Last Sunday, March 16th we decided to take to the beach on a pretty grey day and do something fun for St. Patrick's Day. With two kids, a Movi, a black magic pocket camera and a Cinestar, we made this little video. All of the ground shots were filmed using Movi and the last shot was the Movi on the Cinestar 8 which took approx. 45 minutes to attach. The whole thing was finished in about 2 1/2 hours and that included herding two young children and a quick lesson to two Americans on the virtues of Shamrocks over Clover! Steve edited the piece in about two hours with some great music from our friends Brian & Sheralyn Barnes out of St. Paul, Minnesota and we posted it on FB. In 24 hours it had been shared & liked hundreds of times and reached nearly 8,000 people organically. It was retweeted to thousands more via other interested parties including Freefly. The point is, using a tool like Movi, combined with Cinestar can give you really high production value in a short time frame which ultimately translates into a smaller budget.
